I have been educating myself in this forum for about 3 months now. This forum has in most part answered all my questions. Seems like there is a lot of nightmares out there, and I wish you all luck. My story is for those who are starting out and need hope in the w/c system.
DOI 12/03...no TTD...just a couple of PT`s, did yoga at the "y" for 2 years to help with the pain. Problem did not go away. 12/05, went on TTD... 2/06, QME approves sugery without seeing me.....3/06, cervical spinal fusion c-5,c-6....currently doing PT....expecting to be back at work by the end of May.
I`m 46 years old. Been with the same company for 25 years. I need 7 more years for full retirement. My attitude from the beginning was that I was going to get fixed, get strong , and come back to work. I told everyone this...my employer, human resources, my CA, my doctor, and my IA. It`s important to know that these people want to help you, but they all have there own agenda. I also told all these people I was educating my self on the workmans comp system through forums like these. I`m in constant contact with all of these people. I`m fortunate to have a good IA. She has answered all of my questions ( no matter how dumb they seemed). I was and still am ready to hire an attorney if needed. But I hav`nt had the need and I trust my IA enough even through the settlement phase. For you experts out there...is this to good to be true?

No, not to good to be true, just extremely lucky.......there are 100s of injured workers you do not hear from because they actually got a competent claims adjuster and don't seek out help. I think that public forums have a tendency to accentuate the negative, because when good is happening people don't scream it out.

So knock on wood and I hope your good luck continues.

Welcome back Ginger. My understanding is that only 8% of IW get through the WC system without any problems. My luck is still holding. I wrote that thread only to give some encouragement to any newbees coming on to this forum. Your right ( as usual ), forums like these do accentuate the negative. Henceforth, my positive story, at the risk of sounding arrogant and boastful. My whole being is attitude. If I lose that, I`m a goner. Ginger, you have smart words and wonderful insight, I hope your back to stay.
