Arnie is so true to his word.

We all know that.
He has always said he is against special interest groups.
He is going after them in a big way.
Teachers, children, the poor, injured workers, firemen(people), police officers, state employees, healthcare workers, seniors, and everyone else that is not in a position to add $ to his blind trust.

Maybe Arnie did not feel insurance companies were an interest group when he accepted the millions from them.

Gray Davis certainly knew that organized labor was a special interest group when he accepted millions from them. Like it or not, it's politics as usual. It does no good to complain about the politician. It's the campaign contribution system that needs reform.

I agree finance reform is needed in politics.

It is really messing up State and Federal politics.

I think some type of National finance reform is needed. I am sure each state has this problem to differing degrees.

Terms limits in California was attempted to fix the problem. It was only a partial fix.

Both sides play the contribution game. Both sides claim they are fighting "special interests".

I think some politicians define "special interests" as the groups they oppose. If a group is on their side they are not a "special interest".

Both parties talk about finance reform to make the citizens happy. However, it is rare the politicians openly attack each other about taking contributions. This is because both sides love the special interest money benefits.

I think what is worth noting is not that it is, or has become, "politics as usual" under Der Schwarzengroper. It is that he denounces "special interests" and says he is "kicking their butts" while at the same time taking money in large amounts from other special interests. He has raised sanctimony to a new level.

I wouldn't have a problem with him taking the money from the special interests if he didn't give them what they wanted in return. It's like all the vendors buying lunch for the entire company because they think that will make us use their services. Sorry Mr Vendor, if it's not a good company, all the lunches in the world aren't going to make me use your services but I sure will eat your food!

I have a problem when someone says he has plenty of money and will not take money from special interest and then take money from special interest, lots of money from special interest. That's called failure to keep a promise. But it's so common amongst politicians that we don't count it against them anymore. Politicians don't keep their words and so why are we so surprised when Arnie does not keep his words? right?
